Evelyn D. Antonakos, 92, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Evelyn D. Antonakos, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Saturday, July 9. She was 92.

She was born Dec.4,1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y. and was the daughter of the late George and the late Stephanie (Loukakls) Duke.

She previously owned The Plaza Restaurant and the Riverside Restaurant. Her and her husband also owned Poughkeepsie Billiard Supplies and Gold Crown Billiards. She was very in evolved in the Church helping with BINGO and was also a member of the Philoptochos Assoc.

She is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Greg and Melody Antonakos of Staatsburg, NY; and her two grandchildren Gregory and Nicholas Antonakos, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Stephen G. Antonakos and her three brothers and two sisters, Louis Duke, Gus Duke, James Duke, Ester Michaels and Angelica Duke.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 13, 10 a.m. at the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, 140 South Grand Ave., Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
